It might feel like you’ve officially made it to the middle of nowhere. Rannoch Moor is a remote, wild, unspoiled and beautiful place. In fact, this Highland wilderness is thought to be one of the most deserted landscapes in Europe. But it can actually be reached by train on the West Highland Line which crosses through the moorland. There is so much life here - besides roe and red deer, you’ll also find grouse, curlews and lots of flora and fauna.

The moor is surrounded by some of Scotland’s most mountainous landscapes, including the towering peaks of Glen Coe and mighty Ben Nevis, just a few miles away as the crow flies.

Are the mountains calling you? The first step is choosing which one to conquer.
